Step 1: Pick Your Sunday
Bearpit Karaoke happens most Sundays throughout the summer, but it depends on the weather. Check the event's Facebook page or Website for updates and to make sure it's still happening before you go.
Step 2: Grab a Seat
Bearpit Karaoke is super popular, so expect it to get very busy! The karaoke usually starts between 3 and 4 in the afternoon, but if you want one of the best seats in the house, you need to get there very early.
Fear not: waiting around for an hour before it starts doesn’t have to be boring. To help pass the time, you can grab a beer or a mojito from one of the nearby drink vendors. Then sit back and relax.
Additionally, Mauerpark’s Sunday flea market is just across the park from the amphitheater and attracts large crowds of tourists and locals alike. The atmosphere there is always buzzing on Sundays, so if you have time, check it out before or after karaoke.
Step 3: Sing or Clap Along
Some of the performers may be used to putting on a show in front of such a huge crowd, but many won’t... which is all part of the fun! One thing’s for sure though—whether the singers are pop stars in the making or simply people who should stick to singing in the shower, the audience always gets behind them, no matter what. You can expect everyone in the audience to sing and clap along to all the hits!
Step 4: Take to the Stage
Feeling brave enough to take your singing skills to the next level? Volunteer for a singing slot and show everyone what you've got! If you need some moral support, try to get some friends on board for a group performance.
