„Ich bin eine Kamera mit offenem Verschluss...“, schrieb Christopher Isherwood über seine Zeit in der Nollendorfstraße 17. Seine Geschichten aus dem Berlin der 1920er Jahre waren die Inspiration für das Musical „Cabaret“. Dieses Haus war das Epizentrum der queeren Szene der „Goldenen Zwanziger“.
