Frankfurt's Humor
Right next to the Caricatura Museum of Comic Art stands a monument to the Neue Frankfurter Schule: a collective dedicated to "high comedy" and known for the satirical magazine "Titanic".
The collective had its editorial office in Frankfurt, and many of its members came from the city. Following the philosophical Frankfurt School, they chose their name. They also coined a saying that inspired the moose sculpture:
"The sharpest critics of the moose /
were once moose themselves"
The Neue Frankfurter Schule also wrote texts for the famous German comedian Otto Waalkes. The nonsensical writing style of the Neue Frankfurter Schule matched well with the comical appearance and chaotic movement of the East Frisian.
To complete the Challenge …
Research a caricature of the New Frankfurt School and translate it into a still image of your group. Take a photo of your humorous sculpture next to the elk sculpture.
